Keeping an eye on the prize

What a dramatic change in the past two weeks - all the SIP walls are up. Now the progress becomes less obvious. Today all of the upstairs walls were framed and the stairway was started. Here's a little eye candy (to me anyways!) of the revised exterior of the house...with the metal siding, red windows, and updated stonework.

Not sure about stripping going in two directions -- seems a bit much to the eye. Also, the update does not appear to blend into the site as much with metal siding.

New to this blog...looking at the floor plans.....do you realize that neither of your upstairs bedrooms has a closet? Can this be fixed at this stage?

yes, we're very well aware of that fact - we're planning on wardrobes in those rooms. but thanks for your concern!

Reply to Jack; we understand not everyone is going to like the metal siding, but we wanted to do something a little bolder. i'm confident the horizontal vs. vertical placement will read better in reality. it's an attempt to connect the 2nd level with the entryway. my architect can better explain it :)
